Italian viral marketing channel releases figures ahead of a wider European and US launch.
MoConDi's MeYou viral marketing and content sharing service now has 1.3 million subscribers following deployments with 3 and Vodafone in Italy.
In short, MeYou is a recommendation engine that mobile operators can use on their content portals to drive traffic among like-minded users.
MoConDi says sixty-four per cent of users send recommendations, with 24 per cent of recommendations resulting in a purchase.
The company compares the service to Facebook's 'project beacon', whereby member purchases can be seen by other people in their friends network, the key difference being that MeYou is opt-in
